We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Construction Manager – Rail Signalling to join our dynamic Eastern and Southern team at Bedford or Doncaster. 37.5 hrs per week, on-site.

 

The role is one of site supervision and based generally in a site environment. It is a requirement of the role to attend site on a regular basis (including some nights).

 

In this role, you will support the Project Manager and Principal Construction Manager in the safe and efficient delivery of allocated contracts, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, Amey procedures, contract specifications, and programme requirements. The role involves supervising and coordinating construction activities, effectively managing resources, costs, and programme delivery to achieve successful project outcomes.

 

This role offers a great opportunity to work with one of NR main contractors on Signalling frameworks across the Eastern region.

 

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide support during tenders with methodology’s, pricing and programmes in relation to Signalling construction works.
  • Produce risk assessments and put in place adequate control measures when required.
  • Provide information to planning teams to ensure accurate site paperwork can be produced.
  • Preparation of resource schedules, Work Package Plans, Task Briefings and permits.
  • Responsible for ordering and receipt of site deliverables (Materials and Plant), timely returns of goods receipts notices utilising Amey’s approved supply chain.
  • Responsible for the submission of accurate site records to enable effective monitoring of programme and cost plans as requested to agreed format as applicable.
  • Supervise sub-contractors, contract staff and direct labour for allocated site activities.

What You’ll Bring:

 

  • Previous experience of Signalling construction project delivery with experience of multidisciplinary interfaces -i.e. Track, Civils, OLE, E&P and Telecoms
  • Understanding of railway planning and staging including ability to read P6 programmes
  • IRSE licensed – Desirable
  • Understanding commercial processes and requirements.
  • NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safely and or CITB SMSTS
  • Understanding of CDM
  • Understanding of the AMP process
  • Understanding of testing procedures (SMTH/SWTH) 
  • PTS
  • Driving Licence
